PRAYER SCRIPTURES

    PEACE

    Romans 5:1-6:
    1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
    2   By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
    3   And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
    4   And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
    5   And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which
        is given unto us.
    6   For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

    THANKFUL

    1 Chronicles 16:8:
    8   Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

    Psalm 100:1-5:
    1   Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
    2   Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
    3   Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and
        the sheep of his pasture.
    4   Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
    5   For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

    Psalm 105:1:
    1   O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

    Psalm 140:13:
    13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

    Romans 14:6-7:
    6   He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not
        regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth
        not, and giveth God thanks.
    7   For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

    1 Corinthians 15:57-58:
    57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
          forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

    POWER OF PRAYER

    1 Timothy 2:1-4:
    1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all
      men;
    2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
      honesty.
    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    PRAY TO OVERCOME TEMPTATION

    Genesis 3:1-6:
    1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto
       the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
    2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
    3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall
       ye touch it, lest ye die.
    4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
    5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,
       knowing good and evil.
    6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to
       be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her;
       and he did eat.

    ASK GOD ANYTHING

    Genesis 18:33:
    33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto
         his place.

    TURN YOUR WORRIES TO GOD

    Genesis 32:9-12:
    9   And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me,
       Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
    10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for
         with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
    11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come
         and smite me, and the mother with the children.
    12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be
         numbered for multitude.

    INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING, PRAY

    Exodus 17:2:
    2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto
       them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

    SPONTANEOUS PRAYER

    Nehemiah 2:4:
    4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

    GOD HEARS EVERYONE

    Psalm 4:3:
    3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

    PRAYER FOR YOUR CHILDREN

    Job 1:5:
    5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose
     up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be
      that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

    PRAYER CAN RELEASE TENSIONS OF EMOTIONAL STRESS

    Psalm 62:6:
    6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

    FINDING TIME TO PRAY

    Mark 1:33-37:
    33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
    34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils
         to speak, because they knew him.
    35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and
         there prayed.
    36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
    37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

    DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN GOD ANSWERS

    Romans 1:9-10:
    9    For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make
         mention of you always in my prayers;
    10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come
         unto you.

    PRAYER RATHER THAN REVENGE

    1 Peter 3:9:
    9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called,
       that ye should inherit a blessing.

    HOW TO PRAY FOR OTHERS

    Colossians 1:9-14:
    9    For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be
         filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
    10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in
         the knowledge of God;
    11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with
         joyfulness;
    12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
         light:
    13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
    14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
