EMOTIONS SCRIPTURES

    AFFECTION

    Romans 12:10-18:
    10   Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
    11   Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
    12   Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13   Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14   Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15   Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16   Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low
estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17   Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18   If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

    COMFORT

    Psalm 119:76-82
76  Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
77  Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
78  Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in
          thy precepts.
79  Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy testimonies.
80  Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
81  My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
82  Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

    2 Corinthians 1:2-7
2  Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of
       all comfort;
4  Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any
trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6  And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the
enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your
       consolation and salvation.
7  And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be
       also of the consolation.

    AFRAID

    Psalm 27:1:
    1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

    ANGRY

    Galatians 5:16-26:
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary
the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
         lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I
have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of
         God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

    DEPRESSED

    Psalm 16 :
1   Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
    2   O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3   But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4   Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will
I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5   The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6   The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7   I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night
         seasons.
8   I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are
         pleasures for evermore.

    INSECURITY

    Deuteronomy 31:1-8:
1  And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.
2  And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and
come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
3 The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before
thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath
       said.
4 And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto
the land of them, whom he destroyed.
5 And the LORD shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all
the commandments which I have commanded you.
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is
that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a
good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto
their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither
forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

    LONELY

    Psalm 22:1-31
1   My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the
        words of my roaring?
2   O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3   But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4   Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5   They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6   But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7   All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8   He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in
        him.
9   But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my
         mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted
in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast
brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my
         hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the
         seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face
from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear
         him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall
         live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the
         nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow
before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he
         hath done this.

    LOVE

    Song of Solomon 8:6-7:
6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy
is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the
substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

    Leviticus 19:10-35:
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou
shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.
11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am
         the LORD.
13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not
abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I
         am the LORD.
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor
honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand
against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and
         not suffer sin upon him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt
not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come
         upon thee.
20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and
not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death,
         because she was not free.
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the
LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then
ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you:
it shall not be eaten of.
24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.
25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof:
I am the LORD your God.
26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the
         LORD.
29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and
the land become full of wickedness.
30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I
         am the LORD your God.
32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God:
         I am the LORD.
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt
love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

    Job 1:20-22:
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and
         worshipped,
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD
gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

    Ephesians 3:17-19:
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and
         height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the
         fulness of God.

    STRESSED

    Isaiah 55:1-9:

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy,
and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which
satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight
       itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting
covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run
unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto
the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my
      thoughts than your thoughts.

    SUICIDAL

    Exodus 20:13:
    13 Thou shalt not kill.

    Deuteronomy 31:6:
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is
that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

    Matthew 11:28:
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

    Psalm 50:15:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

    TEMPTATION

    Psalm 19:12-14:
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then
shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD,
         my strength, and my redeemer.

    WORTHLESS

    Isaiah 6:1-8:
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and
      his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with
twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is
       full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with
      smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in
the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken
with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken
      away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then
said I, Here am I; send me.
